I swear I'm not obsessed

I'm usually pretty good at dismissing things that are out of my price range. I'll just convince myself that the high street shops will eventually make something similar. But then this happened:

I've talked about BBC's new Sherlock and the main character's coat of awesome before; now there's the actor who played him and the coat of wonder Harper's Bazaar shot him in. Downside? It's by Burberry Prorsum (I almost choked just typing that name) and you can get it for the modest amount of £1.495. Presumably (I couldn't find it on the website and even checked the women's section just in case they decided the man needed a bit more feminility - and a cinched waist - in his life).

(I can't help it. I love coats.)

Style.com

This morning I browsed Style.com for the first time (better late than never) while waiting for a phone call - so I had a legitimate excuse not to be working on my dissertation. I'm glad I did it, I really needed some fresh inspiration for the weather we've been having - grey and rainy, but not quite cold yet.

The outfit I never want to take off.

I've been wearing a version of this outfit almost everyday, alternating between lighter and darker trousers, baggier and more fitted tops. This style of trousers is basically everything anyone could ever want: comfortable like pyjamas (I needed a break from skinny jeans) + dress-up and dress down potential. Hmmm.

Mish mash.

Autumn is not quite here yet, but it seems like a good time to say goodbye to Summer, short sleeves and pink nails.

Coats in all shapes and sizes

Coats, coats. I love them. This post is probably due to my irrational hate of this heat we've been enduring for months.

And I couldn't possibly forget my latest obsession - BBC's new Sherlock, whose coat inspired me to DIY one of my own winter coats that I NEVER GET TO WEAR because it's never really cold in Portugal :(

P.S.: Just got back from a long holiday, which is the reason I've been neglecting this blog. Shame on me.

The infernal two weeks

I hate exams.

Took the afternoon off on Friday and braved the sales - found some good stuff, but everything was still overpriced. I brought home a few things despite that.

-

Odeio exames.

Byproducts of shopping

+ Eyeshadow by H&M: 'Gold Digger' and 'Glitter Green' (the glitter is unfortunately absent from the picture because my camera is very uncooperative.)

+ Accessories from H&M and Primark

+ Minty Fat Balm from Eyeko (amazing, as I'm finding everything from Eyeko to be. Reflects light with a wonderful subtle shimmer and smells deliciously minty.)

I wonder if those hair bows will look silly on my hair... I've already had to give up on my collection of headbands from the time when I still had my long locks. // Pergunto-me se aqueles laços irão ficar bem no meu cabelo.

Long weekend

My weekend was spent working. By Saturday my brain was fried, and I felt some distraction was in order. Went shopping at Primark and H&M, bought clothes, accessories and... eyeshadow! Of wonderful golden tones. I'm not sure this goes well with my skin, but I love glittery colours. Pictures to come later!

So, here's yesterday's outfit, where I'm wearing some of my recent purchases.

Passei o fim-de-semana a trabalhar.

Casual

The sort-of-but-not-really rainy weather is back. I'm not very good at mid-season wear (since Spring and Autumn have become mere words rather than actual seasons) and today I just wanted to feel comfortable. Jeans + t-shirt seemed the obvious route.

-

O tempo chuvoso voltou. A resposta óbvia? Jeans + t-shirt.

Work week interlude

The recent cluster of bank holidays gave me the opportunity to indulge in guilt-free entertainment. Last week I downloaded and watched Tenshi no Koi, a japanese film that was both silly and sweet. It is relevant to this blog because the girls in it paraded some outfits I'd love to emulate. If only I had money and time to go shopping (I'm actually doing the latter next Friday, due to yet another cluster of bank holidays)...

-
